Default RE: Sig Somethin' Extra Build Thread

first off...... if you want any one to read this thread in detail u need to chill with the !!! and the smillies.... that said, putting a .61 prolly wont give u unlimited vertical... the SE is a heavy plane when finished (i have 2) id try and cram a .75 in there... or if you dare, a JETT .90 :-D

all that said, the SE is a very easy build you shouldent need all that much help with it. Especialy with the high quality of sig insructions. you will fly through it.

my sugestions are as follows
glue: waterproof woodglue (i like elmers wood glue but whatever)
30 min epoxy as well as a suply of milled glass (i like using milled glass as it greatly increases the strengt of the mix, but it is optional, the epoxy however is NOT optional!)
CA? no, its evil... it really is

dont be skimpy on blades (xacto blades, i use #11)

sand sand sand sand sand... and when you think that its smother than a babbys bottom... sand more. (250 grit, 400 grit and 600 grit for finishing)

make sure you have a flat board that you can stick pins into. i use a ceailing tile (2'X4') put ur plans over it and cover them with wax paper. if u dont have wax paper use plastic wrap, but wax papper is HIGHLY recomended over plastic especialy if u deside to use CA

try not to skip ahead in the book because u think you know whats next (been there done that) it usualy ends up with u ripping peices apart or having to fabricate new peices...

if the instructions say to do somthing one way, odds are that the way you want to do it probably wont work as well. <- done that too

above all dont build 2 left wings.... you laugh now... but when you do it youll hit yourself real hard (fourtunatly wit hthe SE the wing is 100% symetcical and wont matter... but it will on most planes)
