Actually I have been flying an acrobatic electric 3D plane from the Czech republic hacker model (extra chaos), it’s an airplane of foam in fuselage and empennages with wing of classic construction in balsa structure, the plane is fantastic as much in presence as in quality of flight.

The model weighs about 800 grams and has a mega motor 16/15/3 with astro flight gear of 3,5:1. I use a pack of 8 NC 1,200 mha sanyo of 2/3 s/c type. With this pack the power to thrust ratio is about 1,200 grams, which is more than enough power to do all type of acrobatic 3D flight including hover and all the vertical maneoubres that you want to do.

My question is that although the power given by this combination of pack and motor is very good, the duration is around 4/6 minutes depending on the handling of gas stick and I am considering installing a pack of the new lithium polymer technology. The problem is that I don’t know enough this type of pack and can’t decide the number of elements, capacity in mha, etc, to replace with good results the power given by the pack of 8 elements nc that I use now.

Any help that you can give me about this will be welcomed.

I had the oportunerty to fly a chaos Extra, powerd by PJS1000 and 3x3 Etec 1200. the PJS 1000 was a bit underpowerd, but it just hoverd

nice plane, flies light, and still got some momentum.

I run a Mega 16/15/4 geared 3.3/1 with an Astro gear drive ,turning a 13/6 prop powered by a 2100 3S TP Li-poly pack and get 15 mins of almost all 3D flying . I bring 2 packs. I love this set up and fly it everyday weather permits .Jeff
