I just ordered an Ikarus Shock Flyer Extra from Sly's Hobby Den.
(yes they have them is stock)
This is my first electric.
I was planning on using a 3 cell poly and brushless motor but which ones?
I really don't know much about what is used in the electric planes.
2 cell, 3 cell, discharge rates, blah blah blah
Any good combinations for this plane would be appreciated
Thanks
Steve

I went with the Ikarus recommended pack for the Hacker B20-31S brushless; a Thunder Power 1320 3 cell.
I also use an iRate 3 cell 850 mah with great success.
Both work extremely well with Hacker combo.
More power than you could beleive...
Good Luck!

Go with Hotec HS50s for servos
AXI 2208/34 for power
2 cell 700 maH Thunder Power
2 cell 830 maH Thunder Plus (Duralite)
2 cell 340maH Kokam (lightest)
Enjoy yours man...thats aroudn the cheapest setup...may want to go for the HS55s instead for cost purposes...USE Micro Dea connectors or The little red bec plugs
Enjoy
Charge all batteries at less then 1C...in other words a 700 maH pack should not be charged at over .7 amps...let us kno the charger you are using
THANKS

This is what I have so far.
I ordered the AXI 2208/34 (back ordered..should be soon)
Pheonix 10
2 cell 340 kokam packs
Hitec 55 feather servos
and the Shock Flyer Extra kit.
I didn't start any work on it. I figured I would wait until everything was in hand.
I still didn't purchase a charger yet I'm not sure which one to get.
I want something with an A/C power supply. I'm not sure if I should get a D/C charger
and then purchase a seperate A/C power supply or is there a good all in one ???
Should I be reinforcing anything not shown in the stock form?
stab/ fuse mounting ? stiffen the fuse? wing mounting?
thanks for tips
