Default biggest amount of thrust without going over 18 amps.

hey guys,
i have decided to go brushless and i was wondering which motor would give me absolutely HUGE power without going over 18 amps because i can't afford a 20 amp speed controller.

I measured my Himax 2025 on a GWS D gearbox and 12x8 prop at 16 amps. Flew my 21oz Ultimate great.

Chris,

I had to laugh when I saw this post but I suppose that at one time you had a brushless motor to go with your controller. I'll assume that you are just looking for motor suggestions to mate with it.

I use a Mega 16/15/7 motor with an APC 10x4.7 prop which draws around 16-18amps on a 3-cell Lithium pack.

thanks for your help. the only reason i don't want to go over 18 amps is because the speed controlers are to expensive by then.

But if you are going to draw 18A you need a 25A ESC anyway - for <$10 more than a Jeti Advance 18 you can get a Phoenix 25 - give yourself some margin of safety.

Cheers, Phil

I am runnin a mega 16/7/10 geared 3 to one (custom made box by me to help with less weigt) on three cell lipo 13x6.5 at 9 amps runs 34 oz of thrust. with my 14.4 volt battery (4cell lipo) it pulls about 40 oz of thrust at 10 amps with an 10x4.7
