RE: Young Guns Program
Chris,
I am getting the Extra 300LX. I can't wait for it as well!
You've only crashed your Kantana 3 times?!? I cant count the number of times I have crashed my IFO. I need to repair the left flap so I can get some more practice on it before the Extra comes.

RE: Young Guns Program
making my own landing gear....
Pic 1. Set up the foam in the right places and glued them in place. They're supposed to absorb more of the shock so it won't mess up the other foam.
Pic 2. Carbon rods glued in place forming an "X"
Pic 3. what i did here is right after u glue in yur carbon rods, take a piece of some push rod and bend it in the right direction. Get floss and wrap some around the pushrod and the carbon rod. Use some Thin CA and the floss really soaks is it up. Next, slap a gob of epoxy to make sure it really strong. Then just slide on yur wheels and retainers.
It added about a little less than a quarter of an ounce. Around a fifth of an ounce.

Looking good Andrew!
So when do you think you're going to maiden it?
Do you have any drawings for your own landing gear?
Thanks,
Zimbo

What do u mean? I just got the idea from a friend. It works great. The picture below is him with his self designed Yak. The plane on the right is George Hick's plane. Notice the landing gear. (Picture from SEFF)

RE: Young Guns Program
hey,
I just maidened my Cap 232 yesterday! It flew GREAT!! I had to fly at this really small baseball diamond, so i couldn't really fly that long. Other than that, this thing snaps like crazy, and hovers great. Will try to get a pic of it flying.
Did any of u get your planes yet??

Andrew T.

RE: Young Guns Program
i emailed levi last week and he said he sent the kits the day before. the reason the are taking so long is he had to set up his workshop in his new home. the kits should be here shortly though.
