Would someone please help me out with what I guess must be a stupid question? I am unsure of how to rig the elevator and rudder servos on my 3dfoamy CAP 232. The kit comes with some thread, or cord I guess you could say, plus some thin flexible wire. It's supposed to be a pull/pull setup. I'm assuming I run a piece of thread frome each side of the servo horn to the double control horns on the rudder and elevator but I can't figure out what the wire is for. It's too short to run as linkage. Levi mentions something about a "cotter pin method" Being new to foamies I don't know what this is. Unfortunately this is the one area that the kit instructions don't seen too clear to me. I've tried E-mailing Levi but he must be busy and hasn't gotten back to me. I'm getting impatient and wanting to finish my plane!
If someone could explain how to run this control linkage or point me to a pic or diagram on the web, I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks,
Michael

Don't know what the wire is for, but you are right the thread is for pull-pull.
Some use a small cotter pin, tie the thread to it, and slide it into a quick connector on the servo arm.
This way the tension can be easily adjusted.
I just used about a 1.5 inch wire for each arm and bent a loop in one end and tied the thread to it, then slid them into the quick connector and tightened the screw.
To do this you need the quick connectors. Dubro makes micro connectors that work good.
If you need I can post a pic of mine.

the wire is used on the ailerons. it is CA'd to both ends of the very thin carbon fibre rod that the kit comes with. as for the pull-pull system i'm not sure what type of cord yours came with. my kit came with some fishing line which i just chucked in the bin and used some kite string wich i just bent the end over and zapped leaving a loop in the end.
good luck with the kit and please post some pics when your done if you can get any.!!

I'm not talking about the pieces of wire for the ailerons, I've also got a piece of flexible silver wire about a foot long. I'm wondering what thats for. I think I have everything else pretty well worked out now. It's just that little length of wire that puzzles me. I don't know about posting pics. I kind of muffed the paint job on this one. I figure it's still gonna fly though so I'll use it to learn on and get accustomed to foamies. In other words I'm gonna fly it to pieces!
Then, I'll order my dream bi-plane from Levi, do a better graphic design on it and transfer all the electronics over to it. The set up I have is a Hi-tec Electron receiver with 5 HS55 servos, a HIMaxx 2015-4100 motor/GWS gearbox combo and CC Phoenix 25 with a Kokam 1500HC 11.1V battery and GP Triton charger for power. I think the power system should be interchangable between different planes of Levi's. Thanks guys, and if anyone knows what the length of silver wire is for...let me know. it's bugging me!

i use wire (can't remember the size, exactly) for the "cotter pin" method: cut a piece about 1.5 inches long and bend the end with some small needle nose pliers. it's best if you bend it first, then cut it. loop the end completely around with the pliers, then cut it to ~1.5". stick the unbent end into a micro/mini ez connector and tie your pull/pull wire to the loop. do this X2 for both ele and rudder. the wire provides adjustment to your pull/pull setup.
