Does anyone have an Attitude with an out runner on it?
I just started to build my Attitude and want to put an out runner on it.
I was thinking:
AXI 2809-24 http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless-axi2808.htm
Nippy2510/114 http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless-uberall.htm
MP 28/10-13 http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless-mpjet.htm#AC
It would help me if someone could post a picture of an out runner mounted on there Attitude.
Thanks
Rickc

Hello,
I hope I can change your mind about the out runner motor. Not that i dont like them, but I have an Attitude and been flying it for 6 mounths and this is the 3rd motor I have had on it and found a 2 jewel set-ups that rock this plane!
First I tried the stock Mega 16/15/4 with the larger Astro 3.3 to 1 gearbox, 12x6e and TP 2100 3 cell. I must say it was awesome while lipo technology was still young but I found my Astro 803g to be just alittle better than the Mega with the same prop and battery. (With a new battery and prop on the 803, the Mega cant touch it!!!) I had longer flights with better power throughout the flight.
Now I bought an old Astro 805g that has the rotor changed to senserless version. WOW, for the 1 1/2 ounce difference, what a power house. Well, with a new battery and a few prop swaps here what I got now. Heres the numberswith the Apogge 3cell 2480:
Motor Prop Amps Volts Watts RPM
805g 13x6.5e 26 10 265 6300
803g 13x6.5e 20 10 200 6000
YES, that 803g is a gem for its size, I have it in my Jitterbug now... AWESOME!!!
I hope this may give you another idea. Im telling this things got all the ATTITUDE you want!!!

Leprocope,
Thanks for your response.
I am having a hard time understanding geared motors. They are very hard to compare to one another. I have been flying two AXI, one in a shocky that has unbelieveable power and the other in a Stevens G-Ride which has OK power but I would like more. I just finished the Attitude fuse last night. It has a stick mount for the motor is that the same as yours? I think you may have the older version with out the stick. What motors would you recommend with a stick mount? I guess I am looking for a 200 watt motor swinging a 13 inch prop at around 6000 rpm while keeping the amps under 26?
Thanks again for all your help

If I could do my Attitude all over again. I would use the best... the Lehner Brushless 1020/15. WEIGHS 62 GRAMS, being lighter then any other motor you will find out there for the Attitude. Has 4000kv and PRODUCES 300 WATTS OF POWER. When you buy these from www.b-p-p.com you will buy the best cobri gear set available with the best mesh and absolute best performance.
Now I thought my Attitude with a Hacker B20 15L with 4:4:1 Planetary Maxon gear box with 3S Thunderpower 2100mah was awesome. Which it was, gave me over a 2:1 power ratio.
The Lehner is over an ounce lighter and produces another 100+watts of power over my Hacker B20 which has roughly 180watts. So basically 1/3 more power.
Statically tested a Lehner 1020/15 PRODUCES 60-65 OUNCES OF THRUST, a Hacker can get up to 38-40 ounces. Tim H has used the Lehner and hovers at 2-3 clicks of throttle, and has a little over 3:1 power to weight ratio. With the Lehner and a light 2100-2200mah battery (do not need more, just making the plane heavier) you will get the weight around largly depending on your equipment 17-22 ounces. I never weighed mine but it was very light.
As far as an outrunner, they just don't produce the power the bigger they get like comparably sized Hacker/Lehners

Hi Short,
which Cobri gear set works best with the Lehner 1020/15? And which prop?
Can you give me some configurations gearbox/prop/amps drawing, having in mind to use a 2100/2200 mha battery?
And, overall, what do you think about the Himax 2025-4200????????
""As far as an outrunner, they just don't produce the power the bigger they get like comparably sized Hacker/Lehners ""
Yes, I agree. The same airplane, the same weight (16 ozs rtf) of two friends of mine, same ESC, same battery. The one with the Hacker B 20/15 4:1 10x4.7 was really better as power, pullout and trottle response than the other with an AXI 2212/34 and 11x4.7 prop.
Cheers
Andrea
