I have the eflite ultimate with the 370 engine set up. I was wondering if anybody else is having problems with the prop shaft bending on the gear reduction motor mount?

Yep, 3 bent shafts before I converted to hardened shaft and 3mm prop adapter. It was for GWS gear box and works perfect. No more bent shafts

This is the replacement you need http://www.allerc.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=705 unfortunately they are out of stock. You can also try http://www.e-flightline.com/gearboxe...%20accessories
These shafts cost about 4 times as much but the don't bend!

Hey Wooduck, thanks for listing those sites. I just placed an order for one of the replacement shafts. How do you go about installing them? I have very limited experience with electrics, gear boxes, etc..
I've had a total of 4 very short flights and this morning I was just running the motor after charging up my li-po's and it threw the prop and bent the shaft. I straightened it out as best I could but then I flew it and had a radio glitch, had a slight incident with the ground and bent it again. Seems to fly great though. Can't wait to get everything all sorted out.

Yep, I bent 2 shafts, the first one I straightened out like 3 times.
I ended up gettign an aluminum shaft and aluminum prop saver from aircraft world. Its a great little device as it saves your props from getting broke, and it saves you from replacing bent shafts.
I think mine was like 3 bucks for the sahft, 3 for the prop saver, and a couple bucks for extra o-rings.
Also, I noticed since Ive upgraded to teh lightweight shaft/prop saver and no longer use that rubber spinner, my plane is much quiter, a little more efficient (longer runtimes), and will hover better on the stock motor.
