3D Foamy of the Year
OK guys, the end of the year is nearing.......what do you think is the BEST flying 3D Foamy out there? Don't take into account power systems, since that can be changed or modified, but which foamy 3D plane do you feel has the best flight characteristics?

Well since I have flown and seen flown only 1 I think it's the best. The E-Filte Ultimate. Course that's not a fair judgement, but none the less my 2 cents.

I'm going to say the Shock Flyer because of the impact it has had on the hobby. I never even had thew desire to fly electric until I saw my first Shocky... now I'm nuts over them. EVERYONE had a Shocky!

RE: 3D Foamy of the Year
As much trouble as a shockflyer can be. I have to give my vote to the Shockflyer.
I never even gave electric planes a second glance until I saw my first shockflyer fly. That little plane has pretty much started a revolution in R/C.
Most of us old glow flyers used to refer to electrics as those "underpowered Toys-R-Us planes". The recent developments in light weight electronics, and servos, along with LiPo and brushless motors, has made electrics HOT.
I have many different glow planes, and despite expensive engines, and streamlined planes, none of them have the power to weight instantaneous throttle and power as my electric planes.
Yes, you can get glow planes to hover, and even do 3D aerobatics, but there isnt a glow engine in the world that has the INSTANT on INSTANT off of the high powered electric motors.
The performance of these planes far exceeds most other types of R/C in my opinion.
Since the shockflyer inspired myself and so many others to get started in electric 3D flight, Id have to give it my vote for 3D foamy of the year.

Hands down winner Foamtana by Lee Ulinger. Check out the video at darrolcady.com or http://www.pacifier.com/~dcady/ and make your own conclusion, many pilots have made the switch. it's painted and a true ARF

I would also have to vote for the Shocky since it inspired me to get into electric 3D. I have never had so much fun flying in my backyard than I did flying a shockflyer.
