for one, a simulator is the best place to practice. if you don't have that luxury, then altitude will have to do. High Alfa maneuvers are good to start learning. Do harrier passes until you have total control. this is done by holding full up elevator (mite slightly vary) and increasing or decreasing the engine speed to hold a straight level flight with the nose of the airplane about 45 degrees up-wards. Then proceed into hover from the harrier pass. This can be accomplished by blipping the throttle from a harrier pass until it sets perfectly straight up and down. Throttle is then set to hold a steady altitude. You will have to do anything that makes you good with the rudder to be a good 3D pilot. All maneuvers are derived from small pieces put together to make a cool maneuver. once you learn harriers, hovering and good rudder control ,you can start more complex maneuvers like harrier rolls, inverted harriers, water falls, etc. etc. Blenders are cool and fairly simple. Get good altitude and point the nose of the airplane straight down (engine at idle) doing aileron rolls, once you pick up alittle speed push full down elevator, full aileron and full opposite rudder. the airplane should come to a halt into a flat inverted spin. When you get the hang of it this is just the first part of some really cool stuff. Slow knife edge flight is fairly simple, Just do a normal knife edge pass and then keep decreasing the throttle and increasing the rudder. once the rudder is fully deflected, increase or decrease your throttle to increase or decrease your altitude.
