RE: New 3DF SuperXtra 1.14m -Top Shelf Foamy
The plane does have side rails. I would recomend a Hacker A-20 20/L or a himax 2212/26 equivilant. on a 3 cell 1500. it takes 4 hs 55's castle creation pheonix 25. that should about cover it
ORIGINAL: affas
Is it a "shocky" fuselage or is it a full body aircraft? It`s a bit hard to see .
Pics would be appreciated

I went with the following setup for my planes.
Motor: Hacker A20-20L
Battery: Falcon Batteries- Predator 1600 3s1p (THE best packs I have found) (www.falconbatteries.com)
Servos: HS-55 or Bluebird BMS-371 (4 req.)
ESC: CC Pheonix 25
Receiver: GWS 6ch
Radio: JR 8103 (4-5 ch needed)
You won't believe the power of that Hacker motor... it is plain insane! some friends tail tied 2 planes together. one with that hacker, and the other with the Himax outrunner. The Hacker yanked it accross the ground in tug of war.
I went with Falcon Batteries because they are hand made, matched and tested packs. The performance is there, and the quality construction is far better than a shrink wrapped pile of cells. They vent the cells with spacers and use superior materials.
The Servos I used were BMS-371's (Purple Captian's) They have LOTS of torque and fast speed.
the prototype flying weight was 15.8 oz with the 1100 3s1p and 16.8 oz with the 1600 3s1p.

Pictures??? How bout the best looking assembly manual you've ever seen?
You'll need Adobe 6.0 to view the PDF construction manual....
View or download here...... http://www.3dfoamy.com/Manuals/Super_Extra_Manual.pdf
Please take a few minutes to check it out, it shows all the detail and setup of this new generation kit.

Yea, that would be me...we taped a couple of 3DFoamys together, same props and batteries...my Himax 2812-850 VS the Hacker A20-20L....at full throttle on mine the hacker was at half..no foolin'....then the hacker at full throttle 'bout ripped the tail off mine...don't get me wrong, I am still absoutly convinced that the Himax 2812-850 is a perfect match for the new 3DFoamys, and I'll prove it with video...
That said, I still got one of the new purple people eaters...I just had to have one after seeing it kick the snot out of my Himax like that...
But I'm just a whack job foamy addict....[&:]

I hear ya... Power is addictive. But even the popular AXI motors will work... and the kits are made to accept any stick mount motor as well. Basically any motor that you are flying your other outdoor foamys on will work. smaller motors used on indoor planes (single CD-ROM, or baby AXI) will not have power for 3D.
The next one I build will be a super light version. I'll be using a Little Screamer and a Kokam 340 3s1p. Looks like the weight will be 12 oz. I can squeeze about 17 oz of thrust from that motor... Not ballistic vertical, but will be cool at that light weight...

hello all
We plan to release one every 3 weeks. We will be going down the line... we are going to try 3 or 4 and see how that goes...if it goes well we will keep doing more.

Seems to fly like a glow model.. Can it be flown in small spaces like a soccer field or is it too fast for a small space. Do you know if 3DFoamy will continue to carry the older designs as well as the new.

Hey, It flies very well indoor infact it was madened inside a 1 coart indoor gym. Levi is unsure about bringing back the old kits, it depends on the new kits sales.

Wow!
Very nice looking and substantial too!
I am downloading the videos now.
I am really itching to get flying again. . . this looks like just the ticket!
Maybe a 301WH paint scheme is in order!
Edit: I just looked through the manual, it looks like the few slight issues that I had with the earlier Raven are all eliminated (aileron linkage alignment, pushrods, and easy to mess up horizontal stab placement), this looks very well engineered and impressive. Well Done!

He musta' miss read your post Mike.
My two are on order, I'm assuming Levi got my Money Order by now. I'm going to set up two with different power systems.
I'll use my trusty Hacker B20-15L on one and a new A20-20L on the other, all other gear will be identical.
Phoenix 25
Hitec 55's
Thunder Power 3S1P 1320's
Gotta' love this hobby!!!
