RE: Lets see those airbrush jobs!!!!!!
Here is one sent to me from a customer. Still blown away by it. Don't think I could ever fly it if I was to do a job like that on one. I put them in the ground to often.

Hmmm, just one more in a long list of reasons why 3D mini-electrics are such a revolution ... sea change ... paradigm shift ... whatever metaphor you want to use.
Traditional "gassy" models have to be fuel-proof, which limits your choice of paints. Not so with these.
Gassy models have to have bold, simple color schemes for visibility & orientation at great distances. Not so with these.
Gassy models (until recently) typically use rag-and-bone construction with rib bays on the wing and lots of bumps & complex curves on the fuselage -- very few of them offer large, flat areas to use as a canvas for fancy paint jobs. Not so with these.
Who will be the first to put the Mona Lisa into a nose-down hover? Or trick the neighborhood cats with a photo-realistic bluejay?

RE: Lets see those airbrush jobs!!!!!!
You know what....
With a good paint job on the foamy, makes you crash less. For two reasons....Your afraid to mess it up, and you can see it better!.
And the plane flys better because it has better self-esteem. (snicker)
I like painting them. I get kinda tired of all the pre-painted arfs. Boring. Everyone has the same paint job. I like having a one of a kind plane. Something personalized. Nothing better than taking a nicely painted airplane out and tearing up the sky.

RE: Lets see those airbrush jobs!!!!!!
Well I FLEW MY Sukhoi on it's maiden today. It really flies like a pattern ship; seem to be a little nose heavy (had to push on the stick to keep it level inverted), I need to put a little down thrust in the motor which is maybe why it feels nose heavy. Doesn't want to hover as well as my shocky. It lands fast and hard, doesn't want to slow down. Haven't tried to knife edge it yet. I will tweek (sp) it little bit more. I think it will be a good plane for windy days! It just seems heavy to me.

Lemme see if I can figure out how to attach a pic...hey, that wasn't so hard.
This is a Shocky I painted w/ krylon short-cuts spray cans, using cardboard stencils and some screen wire.
