I live in a community with a small man made lake ideal for a float plane and looking for suggestions on a plane/float setup using a brushless motor. Any suggestions?
Thanks Tony

i live off the pacific coast and fly near a lagoon i was wondering if any of your
electronics get wet (servos)(rx)ect...i would try this but the electronics cost so much
i dont know if its worth taking the risk ...i know the rx can be wrapped but what about the servos?
you have a very nice looking setup im kinda jellious now ....sweet!!!!!!!!!!

Everything stays dry until its upside down, then the motor and ESC are underwater.
Done that three times, I let it dry overnight and, surprise to me, they were OK.
I'm using a GWS 350 motor and CC Pixie-20P ESC. The stock 280 motor was underpowered with the added weight of the floats.
I didn't want to risk a brushless motor and ESC in the water but I now think they would survive getting wet.
I have a video of it flying but i can't post it here, wrong format. Email me and I can send it to you.

the motors used in many fountains, ponds, pools,& spas are brushless some even
run under water all the time .... there not hobby motors but they have similar internal
features so i say give it a shot because with the brushless you will be able to rocket those floats in the sky....but what do i know im just a pool guy..... lol

i saw the video and your plane looked more fun then my temptest .40air boat
big props because it looked faster on water then my airboat and that has a gas plane engine..plus you can fly!! my air boat would try to fly then its fishing pole and tennis ball time..loli bet your the first to put floats on a 3d foamie thats why i want to see you go brushless
hell if i had a extra motor i would give it to you
..the whole salt thing is
going to screw my plans[&o]
