they are all good, but each is suited for a different application...
shocky yak and animal, indoors flying...
eflite yak and extremeflight yak, outdoors flying...
you can make an eflite fly indoors, or a extremeflight, but they won't outperform an animal or shocky if both are properly set up for indoors flying... and its the same for flying a shocky/animal outdoors...
note: i'm not too sure on the extremeflight, haven't heard much about it other than it is big, but built light, sounds like it could make a good in/out plane... but then again, the eflite yak is a pretty good choice if you want both indoors and outdoors...
back to the point, it all depends what you are doing with it... what kind of flying, and where? what about wind?

I had one from 3D foamy.com. Didn't think much of it. Now I'm flying a 25" wingspan Sukoi SU-26 and will be test flying a 32" Extra from www.balsapr.com , very inexpensive and so far, flies great. I'm also finishing a Pop Flyer GeeBee from Hobby Lobby. A few people at my field have the HL $19.99 Yak and they fly very well too.

Well, for the first time I agree with GWR... None of them!
The best so far, LieRider! (Norwegian construction) Really good! Flies straigh, perfect response, neutral, strong, cute, works both indoor and outdoor, do acro on the line, hovers perfect, knife-edge 10 minutes is perfect, and so on.
Next exciting project out: Indian Spirit, maybe first flight tomorrow...
Most of the foamies are just the same flat boring thing... just different colors and names.

i have flown quite a few foamies and well.. i seem to have the problem of weight. Considering the 14 oz. weight i think that the eiflite tribute was one of the better foamies i ever flew. my shockflyer came in at 10oz. which was a record for me i think, and it never really worked well for me. the one time it floated well for me was when i was going vertical out of a hover and the power in the motor sent the battery flying one way and the powerless plane another way. the eflite yak 54 was also very good at manuevers such as knife edge and snap rolls but it flys too big to fly inside. if u are looking for a 3D and sport flyer then i would choose the eflite yak 54. if flying inside then i would choose the eflite tribute, also if u have a computerized radio than it is fun to setup the ailerons as elevators so it turns on a dime (only works with two aileron servos)

3D/IMAC is the Extra Stiffy for sure. Own em all above. Stiffy is the only one that you pointed out that can IMAC like a 40%er. The other ones are good for 3D.
