Hi Tim, welcome to the forum.
if you want the ultimate in power for your shocky, try the Extreme flight RC "torque" 34T/1520! avaliable from [link=http://www.freestyle-rc.com]Freestyle-RC[/link] you will get about 14oz of thrust on 7v constant, so on a fully charged 2S pack (8.4v) your looking at 16oz+ (just a guess). Thats 2.5:1 power to weight ratio, if not more! on 3s its really not worth thinking about the power, lets say WOT is not needed
my favorite packs for it are the Kokam 640s, these are 15C packs and are the best ive come across for this size plane. and if you want an ESC, the castle creations CC10 will fit the bill very nicely!
the motor is 38 quid, with propsavers and mounts. the EF range are about the best you can buy, and the 34T weighs sub 30g. so not only do you get a hugely powerfull, efficient (75-80%) motor, you also get a light motor, which makes a light shocky, which makes more perfomance and more power! Freestyle-rc will be at the nationals, come visit!
