Default AXI MOTOR & MINI FUNTANA

I have an Axi 2808/24 on my Mini Funtana, what prop should I be useing? I am flying it with the 10x3.8 right now, I just picked up a meter today and I found that I am pulling right around 30amps and 270 watz. This motor is rated for a max of 22amps for 1min. What prop should I be using to get this back under 20amps. I still want to have that power but not trash this motor, please help. Duane

The instructions recommend a 9x6. I have been flying an APC 11x7E and have switched to a 10X5E. The readings you get static are probably much higher than in flight when the prop is unloaded. What battery are you using?

I just measured my AXI 2808/24 with a TP 3s 2100 and an 11X5.5 APC Electic prob and got 19 amps static. This is at 5200 ft. elevation however, so I can generally swing a little larger prop. I am suprised that a 10X3.8 would pull 30 amps. How was this measured?

Hi my setup is as follows:

AXI 2808/28, Jeti ESC 30A
Prop APC 11x5.5E
Batteries-LiPos KOKAM 2000mAh and Thunder Power 2100 mAh

Have a look at the photos. The current draw starts from 28A roughly and decreases gradualy till it reaches a steady value of around 23.8A with KOKAM . The initial current draw is not representative, you have to run the motor at full throttle for about 15 secs, then you will notice current draw stabilises.

I fly my Fliton Jumping Jack with this setup, depending on flying style flight duration is 8-9mins.

Elevation does not matter in my opinion, it matters only for IC engines.

By the way I forgot to mention that I use Soft Timing with the Jeti ESC. Jeti suggests Hard Timing for outrunners BUT current draw is a lot higher.

Here is a very interesting article from Fly-RC on how to measure your electric's power with an Asto Wattmeter.
