Default Phase 3 Foamies

Hello all. today my hobby shop finally got in the Phase 3 foamies that global hobbies sales. to everyone else hobby people sales them. they have four of them. they have and pitts bipe, ultimate bipe, edge and eagle. they all sale for 29.99!!! well i decided to build the Edge. they do not come with motors. but come with great hardware!!! all the carbon fiber is preglued for you!!! the only work you really have to do is sand the bevels on the control surfaces!!! all the part lined up great and the color schemes on them are awesome!!! but here is the thing that puzzles me some!!! the all up weight they say is 13 ounces. well mine with out battery is 7.5 ounces!!! with 2 cell it's 8.5 and with a 3 cell with 9.5!!!! now thats a 3.5 ounce diffrence!!!! i'm using a feagio 22 turn brushless motor in gws GB, d drive!!! gws 4 channel receiver with 3 blue bird 306 servos. i did not use the push rods they supply i used 1.5mm carbon fiber and made all my rods!!! it balacned out great right between the cg numbers. the specs for the Edge is Wingspan 33.5", Wing Area 345 square inchs, Length 32", Wing Loading is 5.5 oz/sq.in. well i decided to test fly it tonight!!! i put 3 leds on it and went outside at 9:30pm!!! Yes Dark!!! i hand launched it with dual rates on, and it flew straight and true. it need some elevator trim and ailron trim. couldn;t tell too much since it dark about the rudder. but i flew it for about 3 minutes, did some basic aerobatics and it did them all great!!!! i killed the power at about 25' and it glided about 75 yards before landing!!! so i figure that since mines weighs so less that the wing loading is alot less!!!. i'll tell you all this thing flys great!!! so everyone go ahead and get one, i don;t think you will be unhappy with it, just go Brushless!!!! LOLOLOL i will post some pics soon!!!!

345 sq/in. 9.5oz AUW = ~4oz/sq.ft wing loading.
