Default Shock Yak 54---

I need some help please. I have bought this airplane and I need to know what motor made by E-Flite is the best for this airplane. My local hobby store only sells e-flite and they have outrunner and brushless. This is my first electric. Will either motor connect right to this airplane or will I need something extra to mount the engine? I have researched until I have lost track. Thanks for taking the time to help.

IMHO ...none.... they are all too heavy for the shocky... something like a CD rom motor or the Hacker A20-34s would be good.

i suspect a park 370 outrunner would be OK, but as exeter acres said it's on the heavy side...

The axi 2208 is a might much, their 2204 would make a good all round motor. Follow mounting instructions on the plane and motor.

That figures! I can never use anything the hobby store has in stock. I guess I will just order the recommended one and wait another week. I sure appreciate the quick replies!

Ok, I just ordered the 2204 with the Jeti 4 amp controller as a combo from Hobby-Lobby. Thanks for your opinions and experience! I wont ask what prop with this set-up or any adapters of such to actually use this. I am afraid since I already completed the order. Thanks again
