Well fellow Foamy Pilots,
When I was in art school, I was viewing Michealangelo's Cistine Chapel paintings, and contemplating "What was he thinking when he finished?"
I surmised that he was probably thinking something similar to the modern day saying of "COOL".
NOPE.
That wasnt it.
After completing my small masterpiece, shown in the pictures below...Im almost positive he was thinking " THANK GAWD....ITS FINALLY FINISHED....I NEED A BEER!"
The plane below has 10 different types of colors. NO stickers, Hand-cut templates. No printed templates. and 47 hours of airbrushing and painting work.
The entire plane is painted. Both the top and the bottom.
Enjoy it. I dont know whether to frame it or fly it.
hmmmm...FLY IT!!!!

ROFL..Yeah....
Actually, it took me about 20 min to glue it up once the painting was finished.
Still gotta install all the goodies to make it fly, but whooooooooo ....what a relief it is to finally see it all done.
What's really psychotic is I have three more waiting in line for more painting.
You have to really love this hobby to put that much into it.
Oh yeah....
It also took about 7 cans of Red Bull to keep me awake during those midnight hours of painting.
I think my fellow employees are wondering why there's always paint under my fingernails and my eyes are bloodshot, and I reek of acetone.
Here's the real kicker for you guys....
I'm colorblind, so it makes it twice as hard.

Well, Im gonna be very careful, and try to keep it in one piece. I wont be flying it anywhere near a typhoon. That plane is garbage in my opinion.
What fun is a airplane that you cant fly. Ive got to fly it to make it worth while doing all that work.
Ill be posting pictures of the airplane once I get it get it flying, so you can see it doing 3D. Should be finished soon.

Yup, a mini reflection.

Had it flying last night. It flys pretty well. Ive got some tweaking to do to it to make it fly better. Not bad though.

Man , I tried to make it last night, but got back too late from Hodges Hobbies in Georgia. I will definately be there next time . Hopefully Monday night? The Taz plane looks awesome, can't believe you got it ready so fast. I picked up a Miss Hanger One flying boat and some carbon blades for my TRex. Hopefully the parts will be in for the bell/hiller soon and i'll bring you one.

Bill,
The plane looks great flying. Tony said he would have a hard time telling bottom from top. It didnt really bother me too much.
The plane is really touchy. I think its because of a mix of things. Im going to cut about 1/2" off the rudder. I think its too big. Im gonna dial in some more expo. I was using 40%, but I think Im gonna bump it up to 65% and see if that helps. It just seems really squirelly compared to the tom and jerry plane. Im also going to go up to a 9x4 prop. It was fun flying last night.
One of the guys brought a little megatech airplane that he got in germany. No control surfaces. Throttle controlls altitude, and its a twin engine design, so on engine will speed up to turn it. It was a rocket in the gym. Pretty cool though.

That's the best paint job I've seen on a foamy.
It might even be the best job I've seen.
I can't decide though:
yours:

Sorry can't decide. I hope it flies as good as it looks.
Enjoy,

I took some plans for the Mini and enlarged them to a 30" wingspan. It's all built, awaiting a maiden. It doesn't have near as nice of a paint job as yours do, BDavison, but it still looks alright. I'm a little concerned about the length. 30" bipe and only 26 in. long, I'm wondering how that will make it fly...
Speaking of which, looking out the window it looks calm enough to go test it out, I'll be right back with a flight report....[

Well, it flies. It's absolutely a no wind plane though. First flight I crashed when the wind caught it. Only broke a couple glue joints. This thing flies slower than my brother's little air hog bipe that weighs less than an ounce. Second and third packs went much better. Still getting used to it though. Seems to be rock solid in hovers and harriers, and the rudder power is insane. Incredibly though it's managable even without expo. The elevator could be a little stronger, and the roll rate better, but it's alright. KE loops can be done around the wing tip. It does great anti-torque rolls. Did 4 without any other input. Hope to test it out more once the wind dies down as the sun sets.

You have to understand that the mini reflection plane was designed specifically so that we could do full aerobatics like rolling circles and even vertical maneuvers inside a basketball court sized room with 20ft ceilings.(see the pictures above for an idea of the gym we fly in). In order to do those aerobatics in a space that small...it has to fly VERY slow.
The mini reflection hovers really good. Torque rolls and anti-torque rolls are really good. The plane will lock into a hover very well...so good in fact that sometimes you have to literally push it out of the hover with down elevator to return to level flight.
Glad your enjoying yours, I know we've had a blast with ours.
