Where can you buy sheets of foam like the stuff your typical profile 3D plane is made from? Thanks.

Foams are insulation or packing materials. In places where the weather sometimes gets chilly, people usually take a look at the construction materials and hardware stores. California? You might have to ask a hobby shop or find it on the internet.

Try Fan Fold Foam at Lowes. It works great and you get a lot of it for a lot cheaper price. Depron is just so high. FFF is good unitl you perfect your design and then if you really want you can make it out of Depron.

Just a suggestion.

There also used to be depronalaska.com, but it says they've quit ordering depron too because of the cost. Dang.

I don't think it's because of the shipping cost. If I remember when I was looking for depron they were the most expensive on the net. I think the others put them out of buisness. rcfoam.com has good prices. I bought some of the grey 6mm when they had it on sale for 27.00 for 10 sheets. If you bought 2 boxes the shipping was still only $10. So $64 for 20 sheets of 6mm grey depron is not bad........

Edit: If you look at depronusa.com compared to rcfoam.com, for 10 sheets of 13x39" 6mm there is a $20 difference!!!! And they wonder why places go out of buisness......

The stuff at www.balsapr.com is called c-foam. It's like Depron with a tough skin. I use it and it's very light and easy to work with.

Hi, would you mind showing me an exact link to the foam you're talking about. All I see is the stuff that isn't depron but only similar and comes rolled. I'm not really interested in trying to make it flat. Thanks.

Cool site. They will even laser cut your plane out for you if you send them the pdf. Might give that a try. I hate cutting them out......
