Default 400DF for flatout

i just picked up a cap580 flatout to have some fun in the backyard. i have a spare JGF 400DF laying around and was wondering if that would be any good on this plane for increased performance (over the stock brushed motor). also, what prop should i use.

thanks.

I have one on my speedwing dart.. Don't think you'll like it on the cap(I have one).. The 400df is 3000kv and happy with a 5" prop or smaller.. The 400st isa 1100kv the one you want and will turn a 9" easy.. The 400xt from hobbylobby is a 950kv and I'm running that on my cap and reflection with a 9x3.8 atabout 19amps on 11.1 volts.. The best prop for the 400df is the 4.75x4.5acp carbonrunning about 18.9amps on 11.1volts So I think you'll need something to turn a bigger prop or go with a 7.4 battery on the 400df..

9X3.8ACP SF or the 8x3.8ACP SF is a good choice..

You could stick the 400DF in the gearbox. Then it'll work fine.

not a bad idea. a little easier on the pocketbook.

i assume it will it fit in the gearbox without too much headache, right? (i havent even opened the model yet). stick with the stock prop then???

my main reason for upgrading off the bat is i dont have any brushed escs handy. i've got several brushless laying around though along with the 400DF.

thanks.
