Default 14MZ and Schulze Receivers?!?!

Hi,

I have several Schulze 8ch Receivers on my foamies and have also just got a 14MZ. I can't seem to get it to work with these receivers though! I have tried all the PPM modulations.

Has anyone else had this problem??

Thanks,
Mark

The receivers are probably FM, the 14MZ, PPM.

uh yeah, FM is ppm, technically everything that our tx's transmit is FM, it is just convenient to refer to ppm as fm.

Alright, I'm not terribly learned in what FM and PCM etc. are.

ok. crash course.
PPM, or FM. straight analog signal. in essence the reciever passes exactly what it hears onto the servos. some are better at rejecting noise than others and i'm not going to argue or explain the noise rejecting feature and properties of assorted recievers. they just do. trust me.

PCM. a digital signal that is interpreted by the reciever and then passed on to the servos, and is a two edged sword. you can only use it with the same make recievers as you tx, with a few exceptions. you will not glitch. you will lockout (however this is unlikely). if you do experence noise, everything will just stop. that's bad.

anyway long story short the tx transmits a series of pulses on a Frequency miodulated bandwidth, which is either PPm of PCM.
you need a different reciever for each, but most Txs are selectable. if you are unsure, check your Tx is on PPM, or analgog transmission.

make sure the rx is futaba compatible....i always forget whether JR is - shift and Futaba is + shift or vice versa. But a JR reciever will not work with a Futaba Tx nor will a Futaba reciever work with a JR Tx

just something to check

Was flying all these models on my Futaba 9ZAP WCII just last week so the RX is definately Futaba compatible.

Something is not programmed properly in your 14. It is backward compatible. Check your modulation and frequency.
