RE: 2S rimfire?
The Rimfire does well with a GP 10x3.5 prop on 2 cells, better thrust than an APC 10x3.8. Don't know how many amps mine pulls but the bl8 provides enough.

I went with a 2 cell for the purpose of weight savings it weighs 8.2 oz. and has plenty to pull out of a hover, not ballistic like a 3 cell, but flies much better because of the weight savings. Two of my buddies are flying the same plane with the same setup with the exception of 3 cell packs and they rip around the sky, I put along at walking speed, they get sooo jealous.

RE: 2S rimfire?
I've never used a 2S on my Rimfire, but if I had the money for another battery I would. On 3S it hovers my 9oz. foamies at 1/3 power, a 2S would change that to about half, but with a bigger prop it'd give me better control and still have plenty of power.

RE: 2S rimfire?
that´s what I´m searching for, it is amazing how a big prop stabilize 3d plus the weight saving, in fact, a monster setup is pretty difficult to hover and fine tunnin of the throtle, I have a shoky on 5,5 oz on a cd rom 2s setup and it always provoke some envy to others who bought a fancy axi and ends at 7-8 oz
