Be sure not to miss indoor 3D flying on the ABC show Master of Champions. This show will be airing tomorrow, July 20th, on ABC at 7 PM (but check your local listing for the start time in your area). This show is a competition for people with unique talents. Josh Ziering and Team Empire will be flying against "Smokin" Joe McBride and Team Flying Cirkus in an indoor 3D competition and pylon race to the death. [:@] It should be good to see our sport on prime time and if everyone watches we may start to see more? Maybe.

I'm going to be out of town Thursday but I just set my TV to record it. For the Eastern folks here, it comes on at 8:00.

I just saw the Masters of Champions with the 3D flying on ABC. It is neat to see the hobby getting that type of exposure (even if it is going against a flame juggling dancer and a team of "And 1 Streetball" style pizza tossers.

i thought it was an ok representation of our hobby. i think they should of had some better flyers who were more well known, but its still good publicity for model airplanes

Exactly what I thought cocobware, No offense to the pilots but "Master of Champions"??? I have seen much more extreme 3D and precision flying indoors in that small of a venue before. Great job though team empire and flying cirkus!

I am wondering if any one of you as recorded this show and could send it to me? I was working and did not get a chance to see it...

Let me see if I can get my stupid DVR working again. We got the end of the episode, which is the flying and the end of the show. My DVR has been acting up though, I'll see if I can get it for you though. PM me as to what format you want, and that kind of stuff, I happen to have a whole ton of video stuff on my computer

I actually thought the flying was pretty good. I really liked the formation hovering. Sure there are better pilots, but they were better than I am. What really disappointed me was the narrator getting the manuevers wrong and the camera shots. They should have just showed the combat segment, it's not demolition derby, as a wide angle shot so we could see all of them. Oh well.

It was neat to see it on prime time. Can't wait for the helis, go Kyle.

The TV guide I have at home says this Thursday's episode of Master of Champions is the season finale so I guess we may not see the helis any time soon.

Yea, I was cursing at the time, then explaining to my family what the maneuvers actually were... I remeber only my bro was around at one point am I'm sitting there muttering "that's not a toque roll, it's an effing rolling harrier!!" How much effort would it really have taken them to at least get the 2 maneuvers they named right!!! Ohh well, anything that get's people interested in the hobby is good, and it was really nice to see it on prime time.
