Bl-8 problem!

I have the bl-8 esc with the rimfire motor and have a problem. It says it will beep when i turn it on and it doesnt. The servos work. The motor doesnt work. It says the motor connectors are not polarized so you can plug them in any way.

I am not familiar with that esc. But you should check your throttle settings, Most esc need the throttle stick completely in the off position to arm the motor. The trim on the throttle stick needs to be set also, as the trim can affect weather it is completely of.
Some transmitters have a throttle lock , which prevents starting the motor as a saftey feature. Just some thing to check. Hope it helps.

I am almost emmbarassed to say it but the esc was pluged into the battery channel. yiKES! Well any ways I took her out into my drive and flew it around. WOW if you ever have thought about getting a turmoil do it!!! they are fun as heck!

Yea Turmoils rock. BTW, I got a chance to fly one on G3 today at my LHS and it was nowhere near as responsice as the real thing! I know that has nothing to do with anything, but I felt the need...

I didnt want to open a new thread so I though I would ask it here. How can you tell if a fuse is blown? what causes it? I think I might have in my lipo charger. I had one alligator plug connected to my 12 batt and when I touched the other a big spark and now the charger doesnt work. Can I get a fuse at some other place than a hobby shop? Btw I have to order everything i get.

depends on the fuse, most are automotive type, as long as the size is right and the amperage is correct it is safe to change.
most smaller fuses are a glass tube with a small wire inside soldered to two metal poles, others are like 2 metal tabs held appart by clear colored plastic and again a "wire" bridges the gap this wire overheats and burns when the load is greater than it's rating instead of having the current burn other components.
you can tell it's burnt because the metal part that links both poles of fuse has melted and no longer bridges the gap.

The two prongs plug into twoplugs. What would happen if I just put a plane wire connected those to plugs in the charger? That is how the fuse makes the current right?

I wouldn't reccomend that. It would work, but it you make a mistake and it shorts out, instead of the fuse blowing, it'll kill the charger. If it's automotive, which it sounds like, just bring it to NAPA or Advance auto and show it to them, they'll hook you up with the right one. Should be fairly cheap too.
