Default Heavy flat foamy?

I just completed a scratch built extra 300-- full fuse--airfoil wing--45"--Park 480--2100mah lipo. The empty weight without any electrics is 24oz. The thing should fly, but just puttering around with some mild aerobatics. I have a lot of Elmers foam board and my next project will be a flat foamy using this stuff. I know that this adds a lot more weight than depron or fan fold. I left the skins on when building the 300 and plan to do the same with the flat foamy[very stiff and easily painted]. A single sheet of Elmers weighs 8oz. So, using one and 1/2 to two sheets the empty weight should be around 12oz. to 16oz. My idea is a lot of wing-45" and a lot of power[ala Tim the tool man Tayler] with the park 480. What do you guys think? Will I wind up with a 3d floater or just another plane to putter around? Any ideas would be appreciated!!
