E-flight Yak 54F
Hi
I recently purchased an E-flight Yak 51F from QQ and was wondering if an eflight 370 outrunner or an axi 2208/34 (both direct drive) would be good for this baby. I fly mostly outdoors and am planning on installing 3 hs55 servos, eflight 20 amp speed and 700mah 3 cell lipos.
Anyone with any experience building and flying this airplane, willing to share, please feel free.
Thanks

That sounds perfect, actually, thats the exact same setup (e-flite motor) that I have in my 3dfoamy Katan S. I haven't flown it yet, but I've held it lossely in my hand, and it can hover at 1/2 throttle! Good luck, that should be an awesome setup.

I've been flying the Yak for over a year now, teriffic foamy..
My set up is axi-2208/34 8amp. control, hs-55's, gws rec.
10x4 apc, 830 ma. Appogee. recently tried TP 910, great
flight times but a little heavy 3 cell 730 TP would be a better
choice. I really love the yaks looks and flying ability.
Have Fun, Vinny!

RE: E-flight Yak 54F
ok I plan on putting one of these together. I am hoping that the hacker a20 - 34s outrunner is enough for this one. I know the motor is designed for a 2c lipo but i plan on overpowering it with a 3cell 1320.
3 questions...
1. is the hacker enough for it on a 3 cell lipo
2. will the motor survive?
3. If it will work, what prop would you reccommmend for this rookie setup?
I'm kinda new at this stuff and am tryin to use up parts I have lying around for this build. I am interested in your comments thanks. This auta be good.. hehhe..

Hello, I have one with the e-fligth 370 outruner, e-fligth 10 amp sc, jr 285 servos, and the thunther power 910 battery. Exelent power to weigth ratio, I wouldn´t put a bigger motor in it, Actualy I bougth a 400 out runer motor and a 20 amp sc, and a will not use it for this airplane. Makes great hover, torque rolls, amd rocket pull out!
