to gear or not to gear--flightflex yak
I'm trying to buy a burshless set-up for my GP flightflex yak. I may soon loose my mind if I read one more post about possible set-ups for this plane. So i guess I should get one major decision out of the way.. gears or no gears?
Seems like no gears would involve much less maintenance. But couldn't I get a longer run time with gears?

No gears! I had a parkzone typhoon with the stock setup (geared) and it caused a lot of trouble!!!! Go with direct drive, a lot less things to wory about! I just got my first direct drive motor setup, greatest thing ever!

you'll find most of the stock gearbox setups that come with most kits won't hold up for long
there are lots of outrunners to chose from know and most people can find one that works well and are lower in cost then a good gear drive setup
I like the flexability of the gear box for larger props
