Just got one this weekend... fortunately I am blessed with great flying wx year round. Looking at doing the 400 outrunner brushless setup with a Castle Creations Phoenix 25 ESC. Hope to have it flying tomorrow.

Ok guys I got to test fly mine today. Got in 5 flights. First let me say WOW. Although I have been flying several years and have owned dozens of planes and flown and test flown many others my experience in electric flight is limited compared to my glow and gas flying experience. But I have flown several different electrics and this plane is hands down the best flying electic so far that I have flown. I just recently finished a GP Reactor 40 and this planes flying characteristics remind me of it. On low rates this plane is smooth and percise. It is like you are flying a much larger plane. On high rates it will hang with the best 3D planes I've tried. The roll rate is fast on low rates and on high rates its a blur. It also snap inside and outside violently. Knife edge flight is very good. It does tuck slightly toward the canopy but not much. It is easy to hold just a touch of up elevator to keep it straight. I did a slow knife edge into the wind and the plane almost came to a stop on knife edge. It looked like a knife edge harrier. It has enough rudder authority to do knife edge loops. I also tried a blender or two and man that was violent looking too. Inverted spins are great as well. This planes is well worth the money and then some. I couldn't be happier. FYI I'm running the E-Flight 450 brushless motor with e-flight 20 amp speed control and thunder power 1320 li-pos 12x6 APC e prop. This gives great vertical performance.

Hey Tim,
We definately need to get together and fly. Just curious where you are flying. Right now I am going all the way to Morganton to fly but it is a incredible place to fly and we have a good club. I fly everything from small electrics to 50cc gas planes. The field at Morganton is great for the big planes.
By the way you are going to love the Tribute FX. It is as much fun as anything I have to fly and my knees don't knock so bad flying it as it does flying my WildHare Extra 300.

Hey Taildragger,
Ain't it a small world. I talk to ole Tommy about every day. Man that dude has went plane buying crazy. He just had me order him 2 new ones at one time, to hide them from his wife. His garage looks like a hobby shop.
Man I am looking forward to seeing a 40% plane fly at our field. A few other guys and I have 50cc planes that we fly there which are about the largest ones currently flying. One old timer has flown his 33% Hanger 9 Edge 540 and thats as big as I've seen.
Hope you come to visit us soon. Your gonna love the Tribute FX.

Hey guys i just thought i would share a few of my little mods with other tribute owners. I have been flying the Tribute for about 2 weeks (about 70 flights) and have been making little mods here and there to get it to fly more of a pattern style of flying and i think this is what i have found to work best. I have added some mid-wing sfg's and a t-wing just behind canopy. With these mods i have found that the tribute truely comes to life in all aspects of flight. While it retains all of its great 3d characteristics these mods help the slow rolls, point rolls and rolling circles tremendously. Giving it that great locked in feel. I would like to thank E-Flite/Horizon Hobbies for one amazing plane!!! This thing rocks!!! Video coming soon.....
Pattern Tribute Specs:
AUW (with mods)- 17.25 oz.
Motor- Microdan 2510 3D (APC 11x4.7 for 3D) ( APC 10x7 pattern)
ESC- CC Pheonix 25
Battery- Thunder Power 3 cell 1320
Reciever- Spektrum R6000
Servos: JR 285's all around

70 flight in 2 weeks?! Wow, how many batteries do you have? and do you live in the center of a giant open field, where wind is non-existent?

I live on a lake and its always windy. Ive just have kinda gotten use to flying with the wind with all my models. I only have (4) 1320's i try to fly 5-6 times a day (and non-stop on the weekends) if its not raining. The tribute flys in wind 10-15mph with ease, its actually kinda fun (stationary rolling harriers).LOL.

Still have to wait for my flying bud to get back in town. We'll post my virgin(for now) TFX and his tricked out TFX for comparison. You'll get a good idea of how the little aerodynamic enhancements help out this already awesome foamie. Wind has not been kind to foamies down here either. Been about 20+mph for about 3 weeks now! The TFX flies in it, but not as fun as calm conditions. It will be worth the wait for sure. If you can't wait for the video to make up your mind, don't! It's a superb foamie design, you won't be dissapointed. Get it, assemble it(you can do it in your sleep) and fly the heck out of it, cuz that's what it's made for.

RE: NEW-------E-Flite Tribute Fx 3D ARF~~~~~~
Hi
I need some help with the Tribute 3d FX. It will not harrier or hover worth a damn. Inverted it will. It keeps wanting to roll off in either direction. Harrier's wing roll right or left and hovering it wants to lay over on its back. On parachutes oe elevators, same thing.. it wing rolls right or left. Throws are set at manufactures recommendations. Expo is at 35% for all. I tried 60% on ailerons and played catch up way to much. Plane is set for straight and level at 1/2 throttle. For what ever reason it floats better upside down.
Motor is Park 450 with 20 ampESC and E-tec 1250 11.1v. Any help would be appreciated.
