I have had a lot of fun with my Lil Banchee, but it is showing its age.
Any suggestions for a replacement or should I get another Lil Banchee? I am into 3d some and my 14 year old son uses it as his third plane.

Without any question the Skeeter 30 now available from [link]http://www.billyhellrc.com/skeeter.html[/link]. Apparently they only have the kit now, but this is the easiest plane I have ever built. I actually framed and glued the wing holding it in my hand and it's perfectly straight. I'm running at 14oz AUW(with battery) and landing gear. With my Hacker A20-20L it pulls out of a hover at ballistic speeds. The plane flies 3D great and also does great just flying around. The speed range is very impressive and it's responsive at any speed. I really like the high alpha knife edge figure 8's it will do. All your current hardware should work very nicely on a Skeeter 30.
Here's a pic of mine prior to finishing it. It has more than 12 hours flight time on it now.

I think the Lil Banchee has been discontinued, although there are probably still vendors out there that have them. Cermark makes another plane called the Sammy 3D that is supposed to replace it. I've heard good things about that plane.

THe lil banchee has been discotinued i just purchased one before christmas and it was very difficult to find. But one of the guys from my club asked cermark about the lil banchee at the AMA convention last weekend and they told him that they were going to bring it back. They also said that they were changing a few things on it so I don't know if it will be better or worse.

I can highly recommend the SU-31 profile from Aero-works. Excellent flying plane, but unfortunately mine was lost yesterday on it's 286th flight. Very durable and a great plane to learn 3D with. I had just about wore the balsa away on the back of the rudder doing so many tail touches and harrier drags. I'm also looking at the Reflex from Hobby Lobby.
That would be really cool if Cermark does bring back the LB. I had a blast with mine. Hopefully they will beef the fuselage up a little right behind the wing.

is the new lil banchee the same as the previous one. does it fly the same as the sammy 3d? the sammy looks like it has a greater chord and closer coupleing.
