about out of regular strapping tape and was wondering if regular packaging tape works as well. easier to get and would guess cheaper. thanks in advance for any help with this..jim

If by strapping tape you meen hindge tape then yes you can use packaging tape. I use it on my 3d foamies and it works just fine.

However, if you're using it for reinforcment of the airframe then no packing tape is not nearly as good. The nylon line in strapping tape basically prevents it from stretching so it adds a good bit of stength.
