Default Broken outrunner

I have a fliton Mini extra which I fitted with a EMAX W2215/20 Brushless Outrunner Motor and an APC 11*5.5 prop. The motor flew the plane very nicely until I tried flyinga blender. the first attempt resulted in the collet and prop pulling clean off the shaft despite the nut being tight. I then used another propdriver with a grub screw to retain it and tried the same manoveur. This time the entire motor pulled out of the backplate where there is a small ally bush at the rear. My question is was I unlucky with this motor or is this a known fault. The mini extra looks like it is superb at doing the blender but if I keep breaking props and motors in flight I am not going to be happy. Any suggestions - I am going for a Park 480 to replace the wrecked motor but I dont want to damage it in the same fashion.

Default RE: Broken outrunner

My E-flite Mini Edge 540 blenders nicely with the 480 outrunner. I will say, however, that the blender does put a good amount of stress on the prop and motor. I've blown more than one prop clean off my EPP indoor plane during blenders. Accept for the part where my plane comes plumetting down, it actually looks kinda' cool when it happens.

Happy Flyin',
Al
