was looking for something to replace my mini funtana and saw this yak, its fairly cheap and i love the color scheme on it!! and I have never had a yak before eaither. it recommends a rims fire motor for it but I have one on my foamie and doin't really care for it so was gonna go for a Himax HC3510-1100 instead so basically my question is that a good choice? Now I like doing 3d so I need POWER (hover at 1/2 throttle). and what are your guys opions about the plane and how it flys and also what motor were you guys running on yours, was it enough power?

I don`t have that Yak, but some larger ones.
Motorchoice for the model, assuming AUW is 800 gram and you want 3D-performance... ; a motor with low kV, and ability to deliver close to 400 Watt.
An AXI 2814/20 would have been my choise, since I like AXI when I want "cheap" motors with quality.

I have seen that Great Planes Yak fly at my park. It is sweet! My friend had an E-Flite Park 480 on it and it was more than enough. The plane will slow down nicely and give lots of confidence. Beautiful axial rolls and nice knife edge. Harriers look great too.
