Me and my kid have a number of Hacker A20-20L motors for our 3D foamies. My kid flies like someone else is building(me) and breaks the shafts fairly often. Sometimes I have have a hard time finding replacements - but I think I have a solution. After waiting a month for an order that never came I logged onto McMaster-Carr supply company and ordered four 2 3/4" long 3MM high speed hardened (triple tempered) tool steel rods which I cut to length, ground the set screw indent and installed. Beautiful polished rods to say the least - at least as good as OEM hacker parts and far cheaper to boot! I got 4 high speed rods plus a 36" 3MM regular tool steel rod (looks like music wire) for $11.90 shipped to my door next day! The 4 foot box it came in looked like it cost at least $10. Next time you need something simple like raw materials... try McMaster-Carr. I have used them before and forgotten how good they are.
