Hi all,
New to the site but have questions already!
I bought a F7F from K & A Models in the US and now want to look at power options. The AUW will be around 2kg and i was wondering if 2 Park 480 engines will be enough to lift her and give her scale performance. What do you think? The recommended engines are Axi 2814/12 but they sound a bit OTT.
welcome to any views or opinions
Thanks
Mark

Is it because you think the Axi's are too expensive or that you think they will be too much power?
I like to fly with at least 150 watts per pound. I have never flown a twin engine aircraft but you should look for at least an equivalent motor set-up as the Axi's. My current setup has me at about 185 watts per pound and it rips like a bat out of hell. For simple scale flight and no 3D, I saw a chart that said 75 watts per pound would be sufficient to take off from the ground and fly, no frills. Maybe look for somewhere between 75 and 150 per pound...
Sorry if this does not help...I am going only by what I like...
Peace
Z

Thanks Zim, that goes some way to answering the question. I will investigate the power of the Park 480s and see what i come up with!
