Dear all,
I have been flying glow planes for about two years at our local field. Have flown the Phoenix Topstar (UCD3D 60 clone) and Reactor 46-70 as 3D planes. I am not new to but still not fully into 3D mainly due to engine troubles. However, in the past couple of months some problems there have not allowed us to fly and I dont see it improving soon. Was considering going into small size electric plane so I can fly close to my house any day. Have a few questions in this regard
1) Which would be a good 3D electric model? Needs to be sturdy and easy to repair and easy to see as I am also new to electric. Should I go for foamy or XLC? I have access to only GP plane currently
2) What would be a good motor and ESC combination?
3) Do I need Li-Po or can I go for NiMh or NiCd? Keeping more number of NiMh or NiCd sets isint an issue. Problem with LiPo is the headaches it comes with- dont charge unattended, dont let it get hot this-that etc etc...
I have the radio hardware including 4 Nos Hitec HS225MG servos and 146iP 6channel micro receiver that came with my 6EXHP and was using with my glow models. What are your recommendations?
