I'm going to purchase one of these. Anyone care to share/recommend a motor and battery config?

Thanks,
-Jeff

RE: Hell Raiser

Jeff,

Hobby Lobby ha a recommended config on their website for this which includes axi motor, esc and so on. I believe the demo video they have shows it performing quite impressively on this setup.

Jeff_Berg 06-27-2004 07:40 PM

RE: Hell Raiser

I watched the video. That's why I want the plane. You think the video was with their recommended setup?

horse fly mike-RCU 06-28-2004 05:22 AM

RE: Hell Raiser

Hi Jeff,
The Video shows the recommended set-up. I designed it just for the Axi !
You can get the kit direct from me or Hobby-Lobby if you need the whole set-up.
I only sell my kits not the motors and stuff!

Glad you like it,
Mike Glass

I was there when they shot the video and yes it was a our stock setup. I have personally flown the Hell Raiser in the video and it has lots of verticle and it will slow down to a crawl as well. Snaps are very cool as well.

Really nice Bipe, although it is four to five ounces AUW heavier than a Shockflyer. Anyone flying it recomends other motor than the Axi 2208/34 , maybe the Axi 2212 , or the 2208 is the right set up.

horse fly mike-RCU 06-29-2004 04:08 PM

Aeroman,
I designed it for the 2208/34 and that is the set-up flown in the videos!
Some guys are putting the 2212/34 in because it was what they had around!
I think the 2208 has more then enough power, plus you can use smaller cells.

We should have our next batch in pretty quick. These things are like AXI motors, if you want one you almost have to back order it.

well, almost finished. It's going together really nice with no surprises. I am just too slow of a builder. You guys will love it. I will be putting two aileron servos (cirrus 4.4) on the ailerons so I can have flaperons. Why ? Because I can :D ! Will use Pico servos on elevator and rudder.
I for example will use a AXI 2212/34 with 12X3.8 APC Slo Fly prop and Phoenix 25 ESC. Battery will be a 3S Predator 880mah and 1100 mah (from Falcon Batteries) and a I-rate 1100 mah pack. Let's see which one I like the best. Like Mike metioned I am using this motor because I already have one. Should be awesome power if it comes in around 11-12 oz.
I'll report back with some pictures and flight report. Hang in there.

Well, Ulf, I got one. I had to have something to put these Axis in :D But I'm using the 2212/26 and Irate 1100's. Nothing like a little excess horsepower to soothe the soul.

yes sir. good to see you got one too (I mean a hell raiser ;)). Have you started on it yet ?
the axi 2212/34 and the 2212/26 should pull them around nicely. There is no such thing as too much power when keeping within weight range. :D
