Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
Hi there,
Does anybody have any results on this 6/3D motor? Prop sizes, Amp's,what ESC's or Not, Cell configuration's?[X(] Fligth results on which planes??? Overall personal results on a scale of 1 to 10???? |
RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
I'm running this motor on the Edge Shockflyer with the Tsunami ESC, 3-cell 340mah Lipo's. The Prop's I've tried are GWS 8x6, 9x4.7 and 10x4.7. My fave out of these is the 9x4.7. The 10 is good for prophanging with the large diameter, but it does reduce the flight time slightly, whereas the 8x6 doesn't get you out of trouble quite as quickly. Well pleased with it. 10 out of 10.

Any idea's on RPM's on these 6/3D motor? 2 cell and 3 cells?
Thanks for all the info other usefull sites on the other Typhoon motor: http://www.airmedia.se/Typhoon-15-10-test.htm http://www.airmedia.se/Typhoon-15-23.htm |
RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
i had mine with a Tsunami on a shocky, loved it with the 9 X 4.7, tried 10X4.7 but it was cutting all the time.
overall i liked it, but the AXI seems to be better quality so i sold it and gettin the AXI 2208. :D |
RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
both typhoon and AXI are "cheap" motors, you get what you pay for. I guess they are worth the money but you have to expect some more mantenece on these motors compared so a Hacker or other high quality choice.
Tsunami ESCs are not good, the typhoon runns way smoother on a Schulze ESC. my Hacker B20 26s gives me 21oz thrust on 3xkokam300SHD, from what I have seen I doubt the typhoon does more then half of that. |
RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
axi's are far from cheap.[:@]!! they run just as good if not better than any of the hackers! and you don't have to woryy about the gearbox. they don't need any maintanince at all. they are a great motor.

RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
I would like to agree on the AXI's I think they are great motors specially combined with a Jetimodel ESC's.
Have'nt had any problems with mine with the above setup on a shock flyer 2208/34. With 2 cells. It works like a charm. Will be testing a 3 cell in the week. Probably be going like a rocket[>:]. I'm going to test fly a Pro-tech Tojero with a 6/3d and a 08-30 Advance Jeti ESC this weekend with 2 and 3 cell packs. Will keep you guys posted. It looks like its going to rocket![X(]. Tojero don't really have space for battery mount inside, but did get it in in front off the wing ontop, had to cut a slot to fit. Can't say anything on the hackers coz I don't have any. Friend at our club flies a Sig 1/5 scale cub with a Hacker it goes like a bom. Check his picture of his Lancaster with 4 cobalt motors and ESC. mmhhh how in the world do I add a picture???? lol Email me for a picture: [email protected] C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Pictures\Hughes041.jpg |

Jo...to add a picture click "Post Reply" and look in lower left corner for "Upload Images"...click on that and nav. to your picture you want to send and click"OK".
I like my Axi and the quality is as good as any but the price is terrible...I would love to buy more Axi's if they just did not cost so much. Boss(Pango Creations) |

RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
I think Hackers are overated for the money....and old technology compared to the new crop of outrunners.
I have Hackers and Micro 6, PJS motors.....The Micro 6 is a great value motor - although nothing compares to the new C&K 19 grm lrk. Perfect for Shockflyer. www.brushlessmotors.co.uk |
RE: Typhoon 6/3D and ESC's
Lancaster: 4 Astro 05G's swinging 11*7 props, 40 RC2400's, AUW of about
12kg, motors wired in 2 series circuits so that each motor "sees" 10 cells, Schulze speed controllers and receivers (2); there's a long building and flying thread on the discussion board at ezonemag.com under my name (allardwza) Cub is a stock SIG 1/5th kit (I was trying to prove a point by not lightening anything) with a Hacker B50 on a 6.7 gearbox swinging a 15*8 prop on 16 RC 2400's - plenty of power! [There's a thread on ezone by Derek Woodward on his Cub build - that's what made me try this one...] |
