ExtremeflightRC Yak55SP-E...Sweet!

EFRC is about to release the Yak55SP-E. I have seen it in person and it is very well done. Only $89.95 for the plane itself and the cool part is you remove 5 screws and it breaks down so it can be stored in its own box. That would be cool for traveling. Chris is also offering a power package for $199.95. Plane, motor, GB, Prop and ESC! He should have some video soon. I think it is going to be available at the end of the month. I cant wait to get my hands on it. It'll be good for indoors this winter too.

HAVE to buy one just because it disassembles...that and it flys terrific....and it looks good.....and I'm a sick puppy addict....
Really, the fact that it goes back in the box with what, only 5 screws, really matters to me...how many times do you go on a family outing over the weekend or vacation and there is just no room for a assembled plane?
Everytime, and I drive a sorta big suv type...kids, stuff..et.al.
OK so justifications all in order...proved to myself that I NEED it...I feel so much better now.

Any word on when these are shipping. Last I knew they were leaving China on Sept. 15th to be air freighted over? This plane looks awesome! Probably can't have just 1 either! :D

What AXI would you use for it?

What AXI motor (sans gearbox) would you use for it? Any suggestions? 2212- what?

Is the ESC that comes with it Lipo compatible and who makes the motor?

The planes should ship out wensday. The B20 brushless motors are from what I have heard, made in the purple motor factory:D

i think the B20 bit gives it away:D

so do you think the gws style gb will work for this?

It already comes with everything but a battery, receiver, and servos.

datster,

Chris at EF says that the plane is plug and play with the stick mounted gearboxes. I plan on using my trusty Razor 350 in a Cobri 6.6:1 aluminum gearbox. I will be spinning an APC 12x6 prop. About 28 ozs of thrust!

Any chance of an AXI?

I WAS saviing for a shocky....now its thuis.

Shortman 10-27-2004 05:03 PM

RE: ExtremeflightRC Yak55SP-E...Sweet!

I think you will find this Yak a better investment then a shockflyer. Do you already have the axi? If you do I doubt Chris would make the plane without some method of attaching the axi outrunner motors.
