Guys, l'm building the Ultimate to, Do you use the stock servo arms(the longest that comes w/servo) on the hitec55, they don't look like there long enough, when you put the tape on the servo and slide it through the fuse, last hole on tha s/arm is just cleared the fuse side, or you dont worry about this? Apprecite the help Will

spec: himax4100 on stock gearbox
cc25
apache li-poly 11-1v 1200mA

should ought to do the trick.

I use the longest arms. By using the outside hole I can get the most control throw. You want a lot of control surface movement on these 3d's, around 45 degrees. That's why it helps to have a radio with exponential so it's mild near the center of the sticks but still have full deflections when you want it.

The Ultimate can handle a lot of power so I don't think the Typhoon 6 would be too much. I saw they recommend an 8-3.8 prop. We use 12-6 on our Himax's. Don't know how fast it would go or how good it would hover. Also have to think how to mount it to the stick.

Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of issues with the ultimate with the 370 5100kv park brushless motor. I balanced the stock prop and I am getting HUGE vibration. Although I am getting a hover at approx. 1/3 throttle. Very strong engine but where does all the vibration come from? Would it be better if I just use the engine itself with the gearbox? I do have a shaft adapter That I can use to have direct drive. I also have an axi 2208/26 that I would use with 3s-700 mah battery, would it be good enough for hovering the plane with that axi?

Thanks for any help

LeBlanc

Axi 2208/26 not the best motor for this size and weight plane. Have to use a small prop. Might work but not the best. More appropriate for a 6 to 8 oz. plane I think.
Vibration might be caused by an unbalanced prop, which you checked, or a bent gear shaft, prop not firmly attached to prop saver or seated flat on the saver. If not tight on the saver, the prop can pull forward under power and vibrate like crazy.

The prop is a bolt on. Like there is a bolt on the end then there is the spinner.

Thanks

Sorry, not familiar with the nut and spinner. I know the adapters that clamp on and you tighten the small aluminum spinner. All I can think of is trying another brand prop or making sure the motor is secure and not loose on the mount. I like APC electric slowfly props but I still balance them.
