Can't comment on insanefoamies because I've never tried them. The thing is I don't know if I ever will because Levi at 3Dfoamy is such a nice guy to deal with. He will always be first choice for me.

Well first up let me say i'm the Aussie distributor for 3Dfoamy, having said that both companies offer diferatnt planes with diferant pos and cons, but for $30 what can you say.

RE: 3DFoamy VS insanefoamies

3D Foamy makes the best product I've run across to date. The main reason I would not try an insanefoamies kit is that they use blue foam instead of Depron. I've used both and I much prefer Depron. As far as construction is concerned, I can't imagine anyone having problems with assembling a 3D Foamy kit.

I know what ultrafoam is. It is made by Dow and is the same as blue fan fold foam except that it has a white core with a plastic outer layer and does not have the pin holes and waves as the standard fan fold foam has. If you stress it, you will have wrinkles on your nice smooth paint job. It is somewhat tougher than Depron but is somewhat heavier. Take your pick.
Thank you for your offer but I have all the ultrafoam samples I would ever need. BTW, are you sure you're not Kris^?

Anyone do boxing??? maybe we should "step outside" ;)

I think its a personal preferance. Maybe you should start a new "Poll" and find out what the majority of modelers think of Depron Vs/ FFF (Ultrafoam)

Or perhaps a poll showing how many kit companies, who can supply any material they may choose, use one or the other.

:)

I am glad that you are supporting Insane Foamies. (Really) It's guys like yourself that make what he and I are doing happen. After all, how boring would it be if all you could get was 1 single design?

I like that fact that the insane foamy designs are so much different than mine. There will be clear supporters of both, and I don't think that either side has a "Real" advantage that would make you switch. If you have found something that works for you... go for it.

I can appreciate your point of views on it, and hope that you'll continue to support him and his planes.

:) No Problem... I appreciate all you have said. It spured my brain to a new solution for the "Spar Process"... I'll have to do some playing around now... See good comes from most things if you look for it.

Let me know whe you are ready for that next airplane.. It's on the house... Just e-mail about it.

Levi, you're the kitter and it's your business if you want to change your designs, but IMO the spar works like it should, is simple in design, and even if you don't own a Dremel with base it's really no problem to cut the spar slot out with a sharp nr.11 blade and a straightedge. Just make a couple of v-cuts and round out the slot by dragging the spar material through it. If you do own a Dremel and base you can do a lights out and speedy job of it.

Ageed... I thought up a new one thought that should be even easier... and lets that laser do the work for ya. It should also make the wings stonger, and fly getter too.... Cross your fingers. I'm sending a new CAP with the new spar system off to Crash to do the tests on it... Hopefully we'll here a report back. (Sending some CA and kicjer along too);)

I will give a detailed description. I will hold off on the construction of my Edge so I can follow up with a flight report. Something tells me that I am about to eat my words. :D:D

One thing is clear already. Levi is an honorable man, willing to do what he can to satisfy his customers. I can see why he has such a loyal fan base.
