here is a pic of my new little lenny 3D

specs are
24 inch wing
24 inch long
power: 17 turn cdrom motor from lensrc
weight 5 oz
thrust 10 oz
full house controls, flies great. I'm not a 3d pilot and I am allready hovering for 4 or 5 seconds at a time sometimes longer. roll rate is terrific, hovers at half throttle or a little more, pulls out with awesome authority. so small it will go in any car.

anyone interested in a kit? what would be a resonable price to you guys? if shipping cost is reasonable would anyone be interested in an ARF version?

I also want to do some biplanes, maybe a 24 inch sopwith pup or a starduster.

I don't have plans yet but when I do I will let everyone know (plans will be free and in cad format)

here are a couple more, would 40 dollars sound resonable for an arf version or 25 for a kit?

Sounds reasonable to me. The Shockflyers go for around 65 bucks here.

I just finished building a mini ultimate biplane. 22" wingspan. Flys on a GWS S1 motor with a 7.4v 350mah LiPo. Enough power to fly, but could probably use a little more for 3D.

22" sounds like a lot, but on a biplane, the plane is really small.

OH YEAH heres a HOT TIP!!!!!!!

We all like to use carbon fiber for stregthing up the fuselage of the foamy planes. Only problem is a carbon fiber tube in the hobby store runs close to $30 bucks......but heres the tip!!

Goto wal-mart and look in the sporting goods section. You will find carbon fiber arrows that you shoot with a bow. They are SUPER light, and VERY strong. Just cut the ends off with a dremel tool, and yank the fins off. Use CA to shore up the ends....

Here's the Kicker....Total cost $4.69

I use old carbon arrows in bigger planes but they are just too heavy in the little jobs. I like the 1mm by 3 mm flat carbon spars sold by depronusa, about the same price as the arrow but much better suited for the purpose. cut a slot in the wing or fuse and glue it in. very stiff with very little weight penalty. I know what you mean about the local hobby store tubes being high but I never seen any for 30 bucks!

Thanks for the tip about depronusa. I needed some of those spars. They are like the ones that come with the shockflyer right? Nobody hear stocks them.

I'm pretty sure they are the same thing. I don't have a shockflyer to look at but the ones I've seen had the same carbon spars as they sell at depronusa. I've bought some at the lhs but found the depronusa ones to be stiffer (not to metion a lot cheaper). just remember the flat spars bend very easy in one direction but are very stiff in the other, they have to be stood up on edge for a wing (either glued to the edge or in a slot) you'll figure out how to put them in once you play with them (if you haven't allready used some before). good luck.

Yeah, Ive used them before. They come with the shockflyer kit. They work great.
