Flatout
Folks, I have been asked to assemble a flatout for a friend but have no experience with this type of model. The instructions say to glue the servos to the model. Now do I CA them down or use some other method? Thanks for any help. Jerry |
RE: Flatout
You can glue them with CA. If needed, they can be pryed out with a small screwdriver. I crashed a Cap 580 and popped the servos out with no problems. I am almost finished with my flatout. Can't wait to try it out.

RE: Flatout
I CA the servo's into all my foam aircraft. Youll get them out when you need to, sometimes Ill put a wrap of tape around them if I want them to stay clean for other installs.

RE: Flatout
I use a dab of Goop adhesive on each of the servo ears---Easy to pry loose if you need to and offers a little vibration protection. Just don't get any on the foam as it will eat it. (The Flatouts have a plastic frame that the servo slides into.)

RE: Flatout
i wrap mine with paper masking tape and use gorilla glue

RE: Flatout
I use a little hot glue on the ears or on a corner depending on how it is mounted.
Now you have a few options. I'm sure the foam safe CA works fine but I have heard of people getting it inside the case and junking the servo. Good luck, Pete |

Thanks for the suggestions and comments.

RE: Flatout
I use Hot glue as well

RE: Flatout
Never thought of Hot Glue. It sounds like the best choice all around. I'll use it on my next one. [8D]
