Default Flatout

Folks, I have been asked to assemble a flatout for a friend but
have no experience with this type of model. The instructions say
to glue the servos to the model. Now do I CA them down or use
some other method?
Thanks for any help.

You can glue them with CA. If needed, they can be pryed out with a small screwdriver. I crashed a Cap 580 and popped the servos out with no problems. I am almost finished with my flatout. Can't wait to try it out.

I CA the servo's into all my foam aircraft. Youll get them out when you need to, sometimes Ill put a wrap of tape around them if I want them to stay clean for other installs.

I use a dab of Goop adhesive on each of the servo ears---Easy to pry loose if you need to and offers a little vibration protection. Just don't get any on the foam as it will eat it. (The Flatouts have a plastic frame that the servo slides into.)

I use a little hot glue on the ears or on a corner depending on how it is mounted.
Now you have a few options. I'm sure the foam safe CA works fine but I have heard
of people getting it inside the case and junking the servo.

Good luck,
Pete

Never thought of Hot Glue. It sounds like the best choice all around. I'll use it on my next one. [8D]

Wrap it in good masking tape first. It protects the servo, and gives the hot glue something better to stick to then the shiny servo case. ;-)
