Default Need Help choosing Gasser 40-45cc

I bought a like new Extreme Flight Yak-54 74" with an OS 1.60. I want to ditch the nittro and go gas. The manufacutre says I could put up to a 45cc gas engine. Anyone know a good light weight power house enough to support a 12-14lb plane.

Look for a Brilelli 46. Not made any more but perfect for it. Otherwise stick with the 1.60FX.

Look through the EF Yak 74 thread. I think a couple of guys are running the CRRC 40 cc in it. Its a little lighter than the Brilelli 46 and will turn a 20x8 prop around 7000 rpm. i think there is even somebody running a DLE 30 in one.

I'm wondering how the MLD35 would do in that plane, its a lot lighter than the Brillelli.

i have a couple of flying buddies that have the same plane.one has a RCGF 45 and the other had a Brilelli 45 and both said that it is to much weight up front.the DLE30 would be a better choice if you need a gasser.they both said that the plane flew heavy.

That airframe is heavy before you add an engine. I'd leave the 160 on it.
You won't come close to that power/weight ratio with gas, especially if you have any hope of 3D with it.
