Default bipes for hovering???

I have *inside* info that a major manufacturer will be coming with a Pitts S2C in the 100 cc class here real soon.

~90" wing, ~85" long, and it'll weigh, get this, 22-24 pounds!

It'll incorporate some amazing ideas that may very well revolutionize the way we think of scale aerobatics AND 3-D.

An Ultimate bipe has a longer moment than a pitts or most other bipes. This will make it more stable in a hover. I have the DP 120 size ultimate and it is easy to hover, especially for a plane that size.

Can't wait to see what you're referring to!! I'll never be able to afford one, but it'd be nice to see a Pitts 3d

Default Pitts and Ultimate each have strong points.

Hovering is much easier with my Ultimate. Torque rolling is easier with my Pitts. The Ultimate needs to be coaxed into a torque-roll, the Pitts needs to be fought with not to rotate.

The Ultimate is much better in 3D for high alpha and knife-edge maneuvers...it locks in perfectly. The Pitts is too wobbly in high alpha and has less linear pitch/roll coupling.

They both perform all types of spins superbly. The Pitts knife-edge spins easier than the Ultimate. The Ultimate recovers cleaner.

For 3D plus a more precise airplane, I would go with the Ultimate. For larger, more tumbling style airplane, I can't go wrong with taking the Pitts to the field. For shows I bring both.

I havent flown a pitts. I know they dont look as stable as an ultimate. I had a big Ohio Ultimate with a G-62, until I had radio failure and smacked it into a zillion pieces. This was before I really cared much about weight. The plane flew like it was on rails, but was too heavy so landings were always fun and High Alpha was out of the question.

yeah okay but, the problem is that i'm tired of seeing the ultimate's face, i'd realy like to have something original just to have some fun and to hover /torque roll and to some 3d but it has also have to be a regular aerobat

has anyone ideas of original acro bipes like the cg bucker jungman, the super skybolt, pitts 2c???
