Default Aeromax rc cap 232 help please......

Hey everyone,
I just put together a Aeromax Cap 232 .25 size.
I just went to balance it and it looks like I am gonna have to add 1.5 lbs to the front just to get it close to balancing out. I have a GMS.32 motor strapped on it with 5 hi-tec HS255 servos. I have my battery pack mounted right behind the fuel tank.
I am thinking about moving the elevator and rudder servo up front by the throttle servo just to keep the plane light as possible and to try to balance it better. Or does anyone think 1.5 lbs of lead is too much for the plane.
Please help any help is greatly appreciated.

Nice looking airplane, but definitely 1.5 lbs of lead is not the way to go. Move your servos, make sure there's no unnecessary weight behind the CG. Any way to move the battery pack under the fuel tank, or further forward, like wrapped in foam and under the engine? Do what you have to do to keep from adding any additional weight. What's the plane's current weight?

I am gonna try a little bigger battery and try to get up underneath the fuel tank first and see if that helps balance it any better. then move the servos up front. I didnt want to add 1.5 lbs of lead. I don't have a plane with that much extra weight in even my giant scale super sportster.

Upright or inverted?
I prefer inverted on a low wing, as some models carry alot of mass above the thrustline and become difficult to balance upright.
Many will argue this, doesnt matter though, I've never had a model(nearly 100) that was way out on CG and all have flown with sucess.

The weight needed, you are describing, seems unlikely for this small model. The tail is a bit long on that Cap, and the nose is short.
Hope it helps. let us know.

If the servos are in the tail, moving one or both will make a huge difference on this model.

I balanced this inverted. I know adding that much weight will more than likely cause me problems. I just could not believe it needs that much weight . I could see maybe an ounce or 2 but not no 1 1/2 lbs. I moved the battery pack underneath the fuel tank that helped a bit. But now the hard part moving the servos up front and loosing the weight in the tail.

I know this is an old thread. I have this NIB. Did you ever get this in the air and how did it do? What cg point worked best for you? Every plane of mine has flown poorly at the recommended starting point, relative to what I feel is proper.
I pulled this out to get a look at it. Think I may o electric for this one.
Thanks, MikeB
