I'm thinking of changing the clunk line in my Gas tank to Hays neoprene and I've seen some guys use a small section of brass tube in the middle to stop the clunk getting hooked up at the front of the tank.
Good idea or not??
Thanks

I wouldn't recommend neoprene, it will break down with the new blended gas and clog your carb at least here in the states. Not sure if you guys run any E-10 blends over there or have any other additives. I just did 3 water bottle gas tanks and used viton tubing and it works great. I did use a section of brass with 2 short sections of viton in the tank.

As far as I can tell here in the UK they can add 5% ethanol, would that be a problem?

My tank is only 16 ounce, is it worth doing on a small tank like that?

No offence, are you sure it was Hayes, Dubro make a neoprene tube which has a seam in it that can split, the Hayes tube is seamless.
Thanks

Not sure but I wouldn't chance it as it can gum up the carb. We have 10% ethanol and from what is reported the neoprene breaks down and problems start. The viton is made for gas and maintains it's flexibility.

Thank you, I think i've found a source for the Viton tube here in the U.K. but not sure if they sell it in small quantities?
As far as I can see the inside diameter is available in either 2mm or 3mm - the 3mm being just under 1/8, would that be OK ?
Thanks Guys

No it was definitely Hayes, I remember buying it and still have some in the packet, Hayes is good stuff but I will not use it in a gasser, it is good in Nitro but I have found batches to be bad, sometimes you just get a bad batch, and it will not last, it just disintegrates.
