I personally like edges, but ive not flown the lanier edge. I saw one with a 3w 75 and it was awesome. rock solid in almost all 3d. I have flown the sukhoi with a zenoah gt 80. Although i couldnt do harriers or torque rolls due to not enough power, i do know that this plane does both very well. Both are very well mannered. The sukhoi is a little more graceful and slow, but both can get wild and crazy if you want them to. If it was me i would pick the edge because of the lesser cost due to a smaller engine and less servos but that would just be a couple hundred dollars so that may not make any difference to you. in my opinion you can't pick wrong between these 2. Hope this helps and good luck deciding.

I went with the sukhoi. As of right now I am going to go with the ZDZ 80 for power. It produces over 50 lbs of static thrust, 8.5 hp (which is a far cry from the zenoah Gt-80 producing 6.75 Hp). As far as servos go I think I am going to go with hitech digitals all the way around. And I might even buy the Carbon fiber kit for it.

What comes in the CF kit? Probably a nice way to trick out the Suk, but it certainly doesn't need any CF to fly very well on the ZDZ.

I would go with the Sukhoi. I am building one with a DA 100 and all JR 8411s. This is one of if not the best arfs I have build. The quality is amaizing. I have seen several of them fly and they will do just about anything from imac to wild 3D. Mike McConville even won the Unlimited class in an Imac contest with the sukhoi competing against several 40%ers.

Though I cant find any official kit I have found a place where I can kind of put together what I want in a CF kit. I am thinking of getting the CF wing tube, landing gear, and tail wheel bracket! I will also order some flat sheets of the CF to make a super light instrument panal, and will use whats left over for the inside of the airplane.

Don't forget about CF tail tubes. Get the weight out of that tail.

I know a guy that has the H9 Sukhoi adn a ZDZ 80. His plane came out to about 23 LBS so that's better then a 2:1 power-weight ratio! YEE HAAAW!

he's using Futaba 9402 coreless servos and a 9Z transmitter. Neat airplane.
