Default World Models Super Chipmunk? 3D?

Wondering if the super chipmunk can be used for 3D? Like hovering and waterfall etc... Anyone tried?

Nice plane, no 3D though. Anything can hover with enough power and control authority but for anything else this really isn't the plane. It does fly well, especially on an Irvine 61.

The world models is an exact duplicate of the Goldberg. At one point & time this was one of the finest scale aerobatic planes avaialble, but that was a long time ago, when scale aerobatics meant just that, and someone doing 3D would be considered dangerous and a freak(not that I mind). Flies great on a 91 4 stroke, but no 3d other than maybe hovering & torque rolls, and they aren't going to come as easy as with some of the new designs. One thing it does do well is knife edge. Mine has No coupling. Still think it's one of the coolest scale schemes around.

Yea it is a pretty cool looking plane! I had a CG Chipmunk years ago with a OS 91. It flew great. Thanks for the replys! I think I'm going with a Wild Style from Singapore Hobbies.

I have a CG Super Chipmunk, see pic at left. It's one of my favorite planes and does IMAC aerobatics great. I have the throws cranked about double the book values, snaps are blinding and other maneuvers are wild but a 3D bird it is not, sorry. Also it's heavy, mine is 8+ lbs. So if you want to hover you're going to need a beast of an engine. My 91 4stroke does not bring it to 1:1 thrust to weight, believe me I tried even with 25% Nitro. And for hovering you really want 1.5:1 or better so you can get out of trouble quick. Also you need the CG set dangerously far back for 3D stuff. My recommendation is the Funtana. I just bought one a few weeks back and its awesome for a low cost 3D bird. 5 3/4 lbs, OS91 4 stroke, HUGE control surfaces, CG set WAY back and it does everything. Good luck.
